Easily the oddest book I saw during my vacation last week. The summary is even trippier:

"The official dog of the white house*, Bo Obama, receives pink pajamas by parcel post from the head of his doggy fan club in Bermuda, Do-Boy. This poses a great dilemma as Bo’s favorite colour is blue. Bo, being the adventuresome dog that he is, resolves this problem in a very simple way. Read along and find out how Bo deals with this most unusual gift from the island with pink beaches, pink houses, pink buses and pink flowers. The reader will be strongly tempted to visit Bermuda and discover everything pink for themselves."

Needless to say, the Bermuda Sun wrote up the book and its author, "Betsy Bermuda", a few years ago.

*yes, for some reason “White House” is all in lower case. I don’t know why.

So everyone under the sun has linked to the story of how indie band Here We Go Magic picked up a hitchhiking John Waters, because it is an awesome story and everyone should link to it. But mulling it over for a couple of hours, I wondered why Waters’ hitching rang a very faint bell. And then, eureka! I had my answer, which dates all the way back to December 2011:

Film director, actor, writer, and visual artist John Waters’s untitled “undercover travel adventure,” to Jonathan Galassi of Farrar, Straus, who published Waters’ memoir Role Models last year, by Bill Clegg at William Morris Endeavor (NA).

Yup, it’s for his next book. Cannot wait to read the finished travelogue, sir!
